Sunset Golfers Festival

Peter Owino, playing off handicap 27, was the overall winner of the Sunset Golfing Society tournament last weekend.

Owino won in the Sunset members category at the Kisumu Golf Club.

Owino hit a bogey on hole one, level par in holes two and three, birdied on hole four and five, then he hit a par on the sixth hole and bogeyed on the seventh and birdied on the eighth and ninth holes.

In the second nine, he parred on hole 10, borgied on hole 11, he hit a level par on holes 12 and 13, on hole 14 he hit a scratch and birdied on hole 15, and bogeyed on hole 16, while on holes 17 and 18 he hit a par for an impressive 39 Stableford points.

Second overall was Joseph Atito, who was playing handicap off 19. He managed 38 stableford points after scoring 19 stableford points in the first nine and adding a similar number in the second.

Third overall was Jerry Oduor, who was playing off handicap 19 who posted 18 stableford points in the front nine and an additional 19 in the second for a total of 37.

In the Club Members category, Rahul Bhayani emerged the winner after bringing in 39 Stableford points, he was playing handicap 27 and posted 20 in the front nine and 21 in the second.

Third overall was Ramesh Karia who was playing off handicap 15 and managed 38 stableford points after posting 17 in the first nine and 21 in the second.

Third overall was HS Sokhi, who was playing off handicap 13 and who managed 38 stableford points after scoring 19 in the first nine and 19 in the second. He lost on countback to Karia.

On Sunday, Julius Omollo become the overall winner of the Lady Captain Prize Tournament at the same venue.

Omollo, playing off handicap 9, hit a bogey on hole one, a level par on hole two and three, bogeyed again on the fourth hole.
