Josephine Sagwa became the first Kenyan to win five cars at once after she participated in the Lotto Give Me Five Power Draw recently.

An elated Josephine thanked God and mother when she received the keys for the five cars and tested one. Lotto and DT Dobie handed her the cars' keys at the DT Dobie show room in Nairobi on Friday. Each of the cars costs Sh1.6m.

The overjoyed winner of the five brand new locally assembled VW Polos also walked away with Sh50, 000 fuel voucher for each of the cars, one-year insurance cover and a three-year warranty. She also walked away with Sh1m.

DT Dobie General Sales Manager Usha Nagpal said they were happy to be part of the venture for a locally made car.

Josephine, in her 30’s, narrated that she received the news of her win while in the company of her sisters, nephew, nieces, aunt and her mother. She watched everything unfold on KTN and still did not believe she was the winner being congratulated by the Lotto team and Radio Maisha's Mshamba.

Lotto’s communications Director Dennis Muigai said they were happy to share the prizes with Kenyans and encouraged many more to play, as this would benefit not only the players, but also the less fortunate in the society. “We have, through the Lotto Foundation, spent up to Sh400 million on charity, courtesy of you Kenyans,” he said.
