Homa Bay police have arrested Suna East MP Junet Mohamed over hate speech allegations. He is expected to be charged in court.

It is claimed that he made the utterances during a campaign rally in Homa Bay town.

Junet Mohamed is not new to controversy, last year he was among eight legislators who were arrested and detained for four days over hate speech.

The eight politicians, Johnstone Muthama, Mohamed Junet, Timothy Bosire, Moses Kuria, Kimani Ngunjiri, Ferdinand Waititu, Aisha Jumwa and Florence Mutua, were arrested and kept in police cells for four days until when they were later released on bond.
