In a viral video, he pleaded with netizens to "show grace," "know what they are talking about," and "mind their own business," hinting at unseen complexities. "You're making comments on things you know nothing about," he stated. "I wish I could explain things how they really are, but it's not my story to tell. It bothers me because I want to tell you guys what is actually going on so you understand, but I can't." He added, "I hope and know she will bounce back, and I pray she does. When she is okay, maybe she'll get to a point where she can share what exactly went down, and you guys will be ashamed because you will see what you were doing to me is bullying." King Kaka and his estranged wife Nana Owiti This trend of public relationships turning private during breakups isn't new. Another notable example is Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka and his estranged wife Nana Owiti. After 13 years of marriage, the couple released a joint statement announcing their separation, explicitly requesting no questions or explanations regarding the reasons for their split. Their family life, including their three children, had previously been a regular feature on social media, where fans admired them as a "power couple" and often recalled Nana's unwavering support during King Kaka's past illness. The perceived abrupt end to their long-standing "empire" left many fans questioning the sudden veil of silence. Ruth K and Mulamwah The public breakup of comedian David Oyando, better known as Mulamwah, and his baby Mama Ruth K. further illustrates this trend. Their highly publicised relationship, which began in 2021, came to an end last month when Mulamwah confirmed their separation. Ruth K. gained significant public recognition as their love story unfolded, with their bond growing rapidly after an initial meeting at a hardware store. Their collaborations on videos, where Ruth became affectionately known as "Bestie," garnered a strong following. Their relationship spanned nearly three years, during which they welcomed their son, Oyando Jr., introducing him publicly on Instagram. They also shared a video from a ceremony initially perceived as a traditional wedding, though Mulamwah later clarified it was an "introduction" where he met Ruth's family. The relationship visibly started to unravel when Ruth K. made a bold statement on social media, seemingly confirming ongoing rumours of their split. "Let me reintroduce myself, RUTH NJOKI KAREGI," she declared on her Instagram Stories. This post came just hours after Mulamwah publicly celebrated his ex-partner and mother of his first child, Carol Sonnie, on Mother's Day, reigniting online speculation and debate. Robert Ndegwa Kamau, widely known as Thee Pluto from his viral "loyalty test" YouTube series and his ex-girlfriend Felicity Shiru also ended their three-year relationship. Their journey included an engagement and the welcoming of their daughter, Zoey Muthoni. While they had discussed marriage, religious differences publicly emerged as a point of contention. In a July 2024 interview with Mungai Eve, Felicity expressed her desire for a church wedding, while Thee Pluto, being Muslim, preferred a Muslim ceremony. She clarified, "We usually talk about it. You know, he's Muslim, and I'm Christian. He tells me he wants us to have a Muslim wedding, but I tell him I want a church wedding. Khalif Kairo with his ex-girlfriend Maria Wavinya Popular auto dealer Khalif Kairo also announced a hiatus from romantic relationships, shedding some light on the disappearance of his ex-lover Maria Wavinya during his legal battles and the subsequent end of their relationship. On the "Let Me Tell You Maina Podcast," Kairo clarified that, contrary to public perception, Wavinya had supported him throughout his court cases. Their breakup had been largely predicted by netizens, especially after a prior interview with Mungai Eve, where Khalif surprisingly stated they were "technically married," much to Wavinya's visible shock. The man who once publicly showered Wavinya with gifts, took her on lavish vacations and defended her against rumours, declared his intention to stay off dating for a while.
