Woman ‘sexually assaulted’ by monkeys in a Park

A British woman claims she was sexually assaulted by monkeys while on holiday in Gibraltar.

Melissa Hart had travelled to the Rock for a day out from her holiday base of Marbella in a bid to see the region’s famous Barbary Macaques.

The 23-year-old baker from Macclesfield said she was excited to see the animals until two of them began groping her.

One of the monkeys then ripped of the young woman’s bikini top, leaving her screaming with fear as other tourists look don and laughed.

Speaking to the Olive Press, Melissa said: "I felt totally helpless as these two monkeys grabbed and pawed me in my most intimate areas,” she revealed.

"Then, with a yank, one of them pulled my bikini top straight off.

"I was being sexually assaulted and these people all thought it was a great joke.”

The young mother’s screams alerted a nearby warden who raced in and freed her from the monkey’s grasp, but Ms Hart was so incensed by the incident she demanded to fill in a police report.

After meeting with an officer, the British woman was told that there was nothing police could do as the monkeys were wild animals that could not commit a crime.

The cheeky officer is reported to have added: "And if they could, do you think you could pick out your attacker in a line-up?”.
