Two Brazilian police officials based in Pretoria as observers on the lead up to the 2010 World Cup arrested two men who tried to rob them, police sources said.
"Two guys got caught with their hands in the cookie jar," police spokesperson Vish Naidoo told the media. He said the Brazilians caught two men who were trying to steal from their hotel rooms in Pretoria at 3am on Tuesday. Brazil are the hosts for the 2014 event. Naidoo said the two men appeared to gain access to the hotel from the outside. The latest incident flies in the face of South African media and authorities who have come out guns blazing accusing foreign media of blowing crime incidents out of proportion.
