United opposition rallies Sifuna camp in push for Ruto one-term agenda

23rd February, 2026

The united opposition has urged Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and his allies to join their ranks in a renewed political push aimed at ensuring President William Ruto serves only one term in office.

Speaking in Embakasi after attending a Sunday service at PCEA Utawala, opposition leaders said the ODM faction aligned to Sifuna — alongside Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and ODM Secretary General Godfrey Osotsi would play a central role in what they termed a national liberation movement.

The leaders also condemned police actions, accusing security agencies of using excessive force to disperse their political gatherings.
