Investigations reveals Al Shabaab uses cargo firms to import military gear from China via Kenya

Emerging intelligence indicates that Al‑Shabaab operatives are exploiting at least nine cargo companies to smuggle drones, military boots, VHF radios, and other terror-related equipment from China into Kenya.

This follows a major counterterrorism operation that dismantled an Al-Shabaab-linked supply chain in Eastleigh, uncovering a sophisticated network connecting international shipments to local distribution hubs within Nairobi.

Security sources reveal that insiders within the cargo firms are allegedly facilitating the movement of these consignments to regions under militant control and other designated terrorism hotspots.
