Three women in trouble for injuring customer’s genitals

NEWS

Three bar employees are in the soup for attacking and injuring a woman over a beer bill.

Elizabeth Wambui Githinji, Ether Wanjiru Njuguna and Serah Wangari Munyu were accused of causing grievous harm to Grace Mweru.

The Unfortunate incident happened at a bar in Nairobi's Waithaka area, leaving the complainant with serious injuries and bleeding from her genitals.

It stated that on a fateful night around 11 pm the complainant was having a drink with other revelers at the bar within the Waithaka shopping centre.

Since it was about time to close, a waiter demanded payment of the drinks from the complainant leading to an argument. It was then that she called the bar manager Elizabeth Wambui Githinji who arrived and reportedly wrestled the complainant before Mweru was rescued by other revelers.

According to court records, the manager then asked the security guard manning the bar to close the main gate while the complainant's boyfriend was paying for the drinks. In an unexpected turn of events, Elizabeth Wambui Githinji reportedly mobilized other staff who are the co-accused and while the complainant was leaving they attacked and left her bleeding profusely.

Luckily, police on patrol arrived and managed to contain the situation then the complainant was rushed for treatment. Medical reports indicate that the complainant suffered a miscarriage in the scuffle. The three denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Sharon Maroro and were released on Sh60,000 bond.
