During his recent tour of South Africa, American rapper Rick Ross took time to acknowledge the global impact of African music. He specifically praised Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones, Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, and Nigerian superstar Davido as "global superstars."
While enjoying his sips of Belaire overlooking the ocean, Rick Ross chose some time out to give a shout out to a couple of artistes whom he termed as ‘future legends’.
Khaligraph Jones, often referred to as the "OG," has consistently pushed the boundaries of Kenyan hip-hop, delivering hard-hitting lyrics and captivating performances.
Diamond Platnumz, a Tanzanian icon, on the other hand, has amassed a massive global following with his chart-topping hits and captivating stage presence.
Davido, a Nigerian superstar, has achieved international acclaim, collaborating with global icons and consistently breaking barriers for African music on the world stage.
Just last year, Khali shared a post on his Instagram stories claiming he had done a partnership with Rick Ross and that they were set to produce a song.
This made fans flood his comment section to troll him, telling him that he was obsessing over the artist way too far and that the habit was starting to get lame.
However, the singer was quick to counter the trolls, as he, in a few days, made a post that was a video of Rick Ross asking fans to stream his music.
A couple of months later, Jones was supposedly supposed to go live with Rick Ross but it never happened. He would later express his fury and disappointment after a section of online users ganged up to report his Instagram account moments before his scheduled live session with the American rapper.
Speaking on his social media page, the OG described the experience as nothing but jealousy from his haters.
