Radio presenter Natalie Githinji has made a heartfelt plea to the Kenyan government, seeking support for women suffering from endometriosis.

Githinji shared photos of herself in the hospital on her Instagram, showing the toll the disease has taken on her body over the years.

"This was me 3 years ago. Endo eats you up hadi unakaa skeleton walai," Githinji wrote while referring to the severe weight loss she experienced due to the condition.

Githinji specifically requested a meeting with President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and Her Excellency Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi.

She believes their combined perspectives would be invaluable in developing strategies to support women with endometriosis.

"I'd appreciate the presence of the First Lady Rachel Ruto and Her Excellency Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi as they are women and would understand all about periods and what we go through as women," Githinji stated.

This plea comes just days after the passing of Kenyan radio personality Fyah Mummah Jahmby Koikai, who also battled endometriosis for many years.

Koikai had been receiving treatment in the Nairobi Hospital ICU and had publicly appealed for blood donations shortly before her passing.

Koikai had also recently appealed to President Ruto on social media, urging him to invest in healthcare facilities specializing in endometriosis treatment during his visit to the US.

She detailed her struggles with the disease, including the severe complications she faced and the lengthy time it took to receive a diagnosis.

Koikai's story resonated deeply with Githinji, prompting her to take action. She called for public support in getting her message heard.

"Please tag them {government officials} as many times as you can and write 'please give her a chance.' I'll appreciate your support fam.... let's do this together. PLEASE DON'T GET TIRED OF TAGGING THEM EVEN A MILLION TIMES," she wrote.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain, particularly during menstruation, and can also affect fertility.
