Researchers from Russia have put forth a claim that mushrooms grown in Siberia could be used to develop new treatment for HIV/Aids.
Scientists at the Vector Institute near Novosibirsk say that they have three different mushrooms which could be used in antiretroviral medicines but the Chaga mushroom could be effective.
Chaga mushrooms grow on birch trees and according to the researchers is a ‘promising subject’ for further research.
