Manchester United defeat to Sevilla attributed to Ibrahimovic's decision to quit

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to Manchester United on Wednesday to bid farewell to his teammates.

The Swedish striker's contract was terminated last week before he agreed a deal at LA Galaxy.

And Eric Bailly offered his own goodbye to Ibrahimovic on social media after his former teammate made a visit to Carrington.

Bailly told the 36-year-old to "f*** off" last week after he confirmed his exit in typical Zlatan fashion on Instagram.

And the Ivorian was at it again on Wednesday, as the bizarre relationship came to an end.

He uploaded a clip with Paul Pogba, as Ibrahimovic spoke to Romelu Lukaku in the distance.

Bailly yelled over to the Swede: "Zlatan, I kill you my friend" - much to his and Pogba's humour.

The bromance continued as Bailly added another post, with Ibrahimovic questioning: "What do you mean 'f*** off'? Eh?' - before raising his fist to the defender.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed the Swede wanted out when Manchester United failed in the Champions League.

The trophy has eluded the Swede over the years, and was won by Inter Milan the year after he left, and by Barcelona in the two years either side of his stint in Catalonia.

After Manchester United were beaten by Sevilla in the last-16 of the competition, Ibrahimovic allegedly decided it was time to move on, according to his doctor.

The blame hangs on Pep Guardiola

This revelations comes after his agent Mino Raiola launched an outburst against Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola for ‘mistreating’ Zlatan Ibrahimovi?, during their stint at Barcelona.

In his barb against the Spaniard, Raiola branded Guardiola ‘a coward’ in a connotation that the former Bayern Munich coach does not know how to handle players with egos such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He blamed the Spaniard for shipping his client out to AC Milan hence denying him the Uefa Champions League winners medal, after Barcelona beat Manchester United 3-1 in the 2012 final.

On the other hand, the city manager is yet to respond the digs and has gone mute, a suggestion that he could be disinterested in the verbal exchange.
