When Ken Karo joined Garissa Central School, he was nicknamed KK because he had a stammer. He decided to beat the problem and do well in school.

By the time he was in Standard Four, he had stopped being shy in the presence of his classmates and teachers. His studious efforts made him popular. Ken also worked hard at co-curricular activities.

Because of this, he got a chance to represent his province in a national competition known as Millennium Champions.

Ken corrected his mistakes. He took advise from his coaches, parents and teachers seriously.

He trained hard. His spirit of hard work saw him win the Millennium Champions competition where he displayed excellent performance in sports activities and a quiz. He also gave a speech that got a standing ovation.

The book is a source of motivation and encouragement to pupils. It is easy to read with humour and simple language. It teaches that hard work pays.
