Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa.

Sofapaka head coach Sam Ssimbwa has warned Kenyan Premier League leaders Gor Mahia that his side is waiting for them to slip up and complicate their title hopes.

Batoto Ba Mungu went to second position (37 points) after beating Nzoia 3-1 on Wednesday and narrowed the gap at the top to six points.

While the victory marked Sofapaka’s fourth win in a row, the celebrated Ugandan said any collapse from the 15 time league champions will see the title race go down to the wire.

“When we win games against teams like Nzoia Sugar, it helps us push and put Gor Mahia under pressure.

“By doing so you never know, they can stumble and we can catch up with them.

“Now that we are number two and we have cemented the position, we want to ensure at least we keep the league leaders on their toes,” Ssimbwa told The Standard Sports.

“I am not saying we are not after the title, I just want to ensure the team wins as many games as possible and see what happens in November.

“We have only played four matches in the second leg, so it is still too early to talk about the title. I will start talking about it when we remain with like three or four matches,’’ he added
