Workplaces up and down the country are crammed with once-a-year pranksters trying to catch out their colleagues - and football is no different.

Clubs and media outlets have taken to Twitter to break fake stories triggering a mixed reaction of fury and hilarity from supporters.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City were among the clubs to try and trick fans on Friday morning - with varying levels of success.
