Victor Wanyama happy to return after a five-game ban

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is delighted to be back after a five-game ban.

Wanyama made a successful return to action on Sunday after picking up three red cards that kept him sidelined for six weeks and helped his team to triumph 3-2 against Liverpool.

Mane and Victor Wanyama were both introduced at half time by Saints boss Koeman, with Southampton trailing 2-0 to Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Following the win, the Kenya international admitted a five-match suspension is not something that he wanted to experience again.

'It was really good to be back,' he told the club's official website.

'I've really learned my lesson although it has been really painful, but now I'm back in and I'm just going to put the disappointment behind me and it was a positive coming back with a win which is just a massive thing for me.'
