Anthony Martial: Frenchman nominated for PFA Fans’ player of the month

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has enjoyed a flying start to his Old Trafford career - and could be set to land his first individual accolade.

The £36million Frenchman has netted four times already since his deadline day switch from Monaco, and has been rewarded for his stellar form with a nomination for the Premier League PFA Fans' Player of the Month.

Martial made the perfect start to his time with United, coming off the bench to score against old enemy Liverpool in front of the Stretford End.

He has since netted two goals against Southampton, and scored in the Capital One Cup victory against Ipswich.

Martial faces competition from a host of other stars in the top flight, including three Swansea players.

Andre Ayew, Bafetimbi Gomis and Ashley Williams are all in contention from the Swans, who currently sit 11th in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, marksmen Odion Ighalo, Graziano Pelle, Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson make the list, from Watford, Southampton, Leicester and Bournemouth respectively.

Manchester City duo David Silva and Vincent Kompany can be voted for, with West Ham's Dimitri Payet and Leicester's Riyad Mahrez completing the selection.
