Jose Mourinho ‘sprinkles magic’ on Chelsea players, says Oscar

Oscar has been one of Chelsea’s most impressive performers this season

Chelsea playmaker Oscar has hailed the magical effect of Jose Mourinho since the manager’s return to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian has flourished this season under the guidance of Mourinho, being preferred to two-time Player of the Year Juan Mata in the no.10 role and leading the way in the Blues’ goalscoring charts.

And Oscar puts his success, and that of his team-mates who currently sit second in the Premier League, down to Mourinho’s influence on the squad.

‘He sprinkles magic on people,’ Oscar told the Times. ‘He gives players a lot of confidence.

‘He will always play the player who is in the best form, so that gives you the incentive to have your best game ready all the time.

‘You always have to be the best for him. That is the Mourninho effect.’

Chelsea are looking to bounce back in the Premier League today following last week’s defeat to Newcastle.

The Blues host West Brom, who have already taken points off Arsenal and Manchester United this season, where they will welcome back former player Steve Clarke who was also Jose Mourinho’s assistant during his last spell in west London.

And a win for Chelsea this afternoon will see them narrow the gap on pacesetters Arsenal to two points.
