Way back before independence Roysambu was called "Royal Suburbs" but the name was concocted to its current status by the indigenous inhabitants. Frank Kimani, 88 moved to Roysambu in 1967 when it was slowly shaping up and the nearest notable edifice was Spread Ego Hotel (Now Safari Park Hotel).
