What do you look for when scouting for a model?

Confidence and attitude is key. The weight and height matters too, but there are many types of models, so one needs to know where they fit.

There is this misconception that modeling doesn’t pay well.

Actually it does pay well. Apart from the runway, if you take good pictures and keep a very fresh outlook, one way or another, someone will want to be associated with you business-wise, and that is an advantage.

Is this your full time job?

I completed campus last year in December, so I am hoping to start a mainstream job soon. Apart from that, I have a fashion line, 2DIE4, that will take Kenyan fashion trends to a higher level.

What inspires your designs?

It is mostly just a splash of art. Creativity plays a major role when coming up with concepts. And we can’t keep it western when we have so much local talent. Some of the designs have a western feel in them like the colourful and abstract print while others are entirely Kenyan with the flag on them or certain items that relate.

Describe you ideal partner.

Compliments and celebrates with me when things are going really great, but criticises and corrects me when things are in a mess. Outer beauty and a charming personality are essential too.
