Koome Gitobu

Occupation: Code 254 presenter and a Bachelor of Music student at Kenyatta University.

Age: 25.

Star: Libra.

How did you come to know and participate in ‘The Presenter’?

I didn’t know about the show, I had randomly taken my friend for auditions, the long queues of hopefuls caught my attention and after learning a bit more about it, I returned the next day to audition. Four days later I was packing and headed to the house.

How was life before and how has it changed after the show?

I got to venture in a career path that I might not have taken and that I now love. Previously I was a professional dancer and worked with Wyre and Amani. I also doubled up as an events organiser, I hosted a TV show and have been behind the camera doing various productions. It’s great that

people have also watched me on TV and know what I am capable of doing. Very soon, I’ll be hosting one of the biggest entertainment shows in Kenya. Sadly,

I’ve lost my privacy and being a very private person, I find it hard running my daily errands unnoticed.

Are there any misconceptions about you?

People assume that I am arrogant and spoilt. I come from a very humble background and have my days just like everybody else, yes, I am outspoken, I voice what I feel and hold on to what I believe. But I do know when to not talk. People should not be quick to judge, I believe I am hardworking, down to earth and honest.

About his dreadlocks...

Yet another big misconception that I did not win because of my dreadlocks, if it had ever been brought to my attention that they would hinder me from the top, I would have cut them. But they have never been an issue.
