Punchline Assassin: Women rained panties on me during my first performance in Nairobi

Punchline Assassin aka Captain Mulinge is a budding rapper from Machakos who is using music as a tool to encourage youths to shun crime.
The first time he came to Nairobi, was when he had been admitted to the University of Nairobi in 2015.

"There was a long queue of students, all looking forward to being admitted to this great university. So while we were queuing in the Education building as I waited for my turn so that I can finish the admission process, a boy and a girl approached me," he says.

"The boy introduced himself as Brayo and the girl as Linda (Not their real names). They behaved as if they were starstruck. Brayo said that he is an event organiser. He has been religiously following my music online. That was back then before YouTube and TikTok craze. He suggested that it would be great if I performed tomorrow (Friday) at an event christened "Freshas nite" at Skyluxx lounge, Westlands.

"Mimi ni nani nikatae? Linda also proposed a good appreciation fee, VIP treatment and of course free booze if I show up to perform my then-hit song "Tulia tu". It was a diss song full of subliminals to then Hip-hop kings albeit with a catchy chorus," he continues.

They exchanged contacts and he continued with his registration process. "Fast forward to that Friday at around 9 pm, I arrived at the club with the company of my two friends, one of whom masqueraded as my Manager," he adds.

Punchline Assassin agrees he had not seen a crowd of beautiful women before. "At exactly, 11:30 pm, I was given the mic and I was ready to give an electric performance. To my surprise, women threw thongs and panties on stage as I performed. It was my first time to experience such and coincidentally it was my first time in Nairobi," he concludes.

Currently, Punchline Assassin is working on 'Turhyme-Tuwache crime' mixtape that is dropping on 5th of November.
