Kenyan entertainer Akothee on Friday took to social media to celebrate her daughter Celine Okello aka Rue Baby after she attained her first degree from Strathmore University.
Akothee expressed pride that she was able to foot her daughter’s bills and lauded Celine for being trustworthy and responsible.
“It's a story of a successful journey of a mother stepping up to own all the duties for both parents including the missing one.
“To provide all basic needs for her children and create an environment conducive for healthy growth of a child,” she wrote.
She heaped praises on Celine, stating that she is very reliable and made parenting easy for her.
Akothee divulged that she used to wire school fees to her daughter’s account and the fact that she never squandered the money says a lot about her character.
“Congratulations my darling, you made parenting easy for me, you understood the assignment... If God asks me for another bunch of kids, I will still choose you & your siblings.
“I have no idea where this school called Strathmore is! I don't even know the account details nor the bank they bank with…I just transfer money into your account with hope you will either choose to spend or pay for your future,” wrote Akothee.
On her part, Rue Baby dedicated the degree to her mum, saying it should help in lifting her spirits after a few turbulent weeks in and out of hospital.
“Mama we did it. I know you aren't feeling well but this should cheer your day…mama I made you proud. One hot girl one hot degree,” she wrote.
Earlier this week, Akothee explained the cause of her recent weight gain saying she is battling a health condition.
She further cautioned people approaching her with the weight gain conversation, explaining that she has struggled with sleepless nights.
"Do not meet me and start telling me how fat I am, I am having a health condition, I am swollen due to struggling with sleepless nights of pain. I am afraid to go to bed for I wake up with numbness on my fingers, this situation is scary for me," she wrote.
The Abebo hitmaker added that a relative recently questioned her weight gain, insinuating that she (Akothee) was faking her condition.
