Vera Sidika: Why I chose to give birth on Mashujaa Day

News
Vera Sidika gave birth on Mashujaa Day.

Businesswoman Vera Sidika has shared her experience after going through Elective cesarean section as a first time mom.

Opening up on her birth chronicles via social media, the elated new mom termed the procedure as the best decision she ever made as it turned out better than she had imagined.

“Whoever said CS surgery was so bad and very painful lied. I felt zeeeero pain imagine. I swear to God, it was the best decision ever!!!” she wrote.

Another advantage of elective cesarean section is that you can choose your child’s birth date. Vera says she settled on 20th October 2021, a public holiday, to allow her daughter celebrate her birthday with family.

“Since elective CS allows you to select a date within a particular timeframe, I personally chose the date 20th October 2021 So she can be celebrating her birthdays from home with family since it's a public holiday, Mashujaa day and phewx! Curfew got lifted a few hours right after she was born. Such a blessing,” she said.

Adding: “My honest opinion on CS delivery, (based on my experience so far). During surgery I felt no pain. It's been 21 hours after surgery, still no pain at all. And I can get up, walk around on my own. Waaah. I am surprised. Actually felt so good during surgery. Some kind of high. I was awake. Saw, heard everything. Even told stories with my Anesthesian with some nice old school RnB music in the background,” she added.

Painless birth experience

The popular socialite’s decision to undergo Elective Caesarean delivery does not come as a surprise to many as she had earlier informed her fans of her plans stating that her intention was to have a painless birth experience.

“Ever since I thought of having kids in my adult life, I said to myself I’ll do it only if I don’t have to experience labour. So I have forever been team CS (scheduled). I don’t want to feel an inch of labour pain. In fact, I even want to slay. Have my wig and makeup on fleek during my delivery. I honestly can’t deal with pain. Y’all keep saying CS takes time to heal, who told you I’m in a hurry to heal? Normal delivery? No, I will not do that to my birth canal. Imagine a pain that was a curse from God. I can’t even think of it. All I know is if I go for normal birth I’ll probably not want to have another baby,” she wrote in a previous post.
