Kanye West's documentary has reportedly been bought by Netflix for upwards of a cool $30million (Sh3.2billion) and is set to feature never-before-seen footage of the rapper's life.

The 43-year-old Yeezy designer, who is currently facing a high-profile divorce from Kim Kardashian, is said to be featuring in a multi-part series that has been in the making for over two decades.

According to Billboard, the currently unnamed project is the creation of Ye directors Clarence 'Coodie' Simmons and Chike Ozah in collaboration with TIME Studios.

An insider close to the project is said to have told the publication that Kanye has given the duo his blessing to portray his story.

The Kanye West documentary is said to have been over 20 years in the making.

It is expected to delve into Kanye's music and fashion career as well as his presidential campaign and feature unseen footage collected of the artist over the years.

While little more is known about the exciting project, the series is expected to be released on the streaming platform at some point later this year.

News of Netflix's reported acquirement comes just over a month after it was revealed that Kanye's former bodyguard Steve Stanulis is also set to create a tell-all documentary about his experience of working with the rapper.

Aside from Kanye's upcoming documentary, the rapper is currently in the midst of a divorce case following his split from soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim.

After months of rumours that the couple were on the rocks, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star filed for divorce at the beginning of March citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The documentary comes after the A-list couple filed for divorce citing 'irreconcilable differences'.

The couple, who share kids North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, one, are said to be seeking joint custody.

Confirmation of their split came months after Kanye unleashed a sensational social media tirade against his wife as well as her wider family. He then announced during a presidential rally that the couple had discussed the idea of aborting their first child, North.

He was then forced to apologise to his partner for the controversial outburst after calling Kim and her mum Kris Jenner a 'white supremacist'.
