When the coronavirus pandemic hit the world, studios halted the production and release of most films in 2020. However, despite the world being trapped, movie fans are looking forward to the release of many films this coming year. Here is a list of some of the most anticipated movies in 2021.
Morbius
In this upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics, biochemist Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) accidentally injects himself with a form of vampirism as he tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease. The release date is set for March 18, 2021.
No Time to Die
The 25th Bond film is one of the most anticipated movies in 2021 after its release date was delayed by a year. In this 2-hour 43min action movie, spy James Bond (Daniel Craig) is recruited to rescue a kidnapped scientist and pursue a villain armed with dangerous technology. The release date is set for April 2, 2021.

Black Widow
Fans were devastated when the Black Widow tragically died in Avengers: Endgame. 2021 sees agent Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) return to the big screen with her own stand-alone movie. After the events of Captain America: Civil War, agent Romanoff returns home, only to face what she left behind. The release date is set for May 7, 2021.
Fast & Furious 9
This is the ninth installment to The Fast & The Furious franchise. From being street racers to heroes trying to save the world, in this 3-hour film, we see Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew/family face off with a skilled assassin and high-performance driver, who happens to be Dominic's brother, working for their arch enemy. For the long-term fans, Han will also make an appearance in the movie. The release date is set for May 28, 2021.

Top Gun: Maverick
In this action film, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) returns to the cockpit after 34 years. As he trains a new squad of graduates for a dangerous Top Gun mission, Maverick has to confront his past mistakes and his former partner Goose's death. The release date is set for July 2, 2021.
