Anerlisa Muigai, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of NERO, is channelling Proverbs 4:23-27 in a message to her over 926,000 Instagram followers - amidst reports of her split from Tanzanian singer and songwriter Benard Michael Paul Mnyang'anga alias Ben Pol.

In a widely shared post, the entrepreneur preached on responsibility, advising her followers on the power of choice and control - explaining why they must, diligently, guard their hearts.

“If every problem in your life is “somebody else’s fault” you need to take a good look in the mirror sooner than later. You may not have control over what other people do (and that’s irrelevant really) but how you allow that to affect and influence your life choices and emotions is 100% your responsibility. Life becomes much sweeter when you’re in the driving seat of your own life. Out of you flows the outwards pictures and experiences of your life. Guard your heart with a double-edged sword,” posted Muigai.

A post that echoed one she put out a week ago soon after opening up about her relationship with the songbird after he went live and reportedly hinted that they were not in good terms - a few months after they had their private wedding.

"Somebody called me, asking if I was aware 'my husband' was live, talking things she couldn’t understand, she even sent me screenshots," shared the businesswoman who was in 2018 named by Business Elites Africa among 40 Under-40 Business Icons. "Unfortunately, I never got to watch but it makes it clear that we are not in good terms. I am a person who likes to protect my image and all I know is that I like being respected and any husband should do the same to their wife."

She two years ago buttressed the same when she urged ‘insecure and restless’ women to, first, respect themselves and put everything else last. “Ladies a piece of advice. I am not an expert in relationships but I'll address two issues that stress women. If you want peace and happiness, please let your man be. This calling your man every minute because he is out of your sight needs to stop. Call him only if it's urgent,” read her post.

Adding: “You should never lack sleep because he left at 7pm and by 4am he is not back, he is a grown-a*s man who is fully aware of what time he should get back. On the other hand, his phone should be none of your business. You need to trust your man, you cannot stop a man from cheating. The more he feels nagged the more he wants you out of his sight. Have peace of mind and relax. The only thing that should ever stress you re your children and work.”
