Water shortage in Nairobi.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) on Thursday, September 24, announced the areas set to experience water shortage for the next two days. Through a statement, the NSWSC said they'll cut water supply in Pipeline, along Mombasa road following the Expressway road construction. The water supply interruption began today morning and will end on Friday, September 25.
"Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited would like to inform its esteemed customers that water supply shutdown along Mombasa Road started this morning at 6:00 a.m. to September 25, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. This will facilitate interconnection of the new and old pipelines and enable the release of the road median to the Expressroad contractor," read the statement.

Areas set to experience the water shortage include;
South B and South C estates, including Mater Hospital Estates along Jogoo Road, including Makadara and Hamza The whole of Industrial area Estates along Mombasa Road from City Stadium, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), Athi River Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Coca Cocal, Mukuru, Imara Daima, North Airport Road, and Embakasi.ALSO READ: City water crisis a drawback in war on covid-19
The NCWSC Managing Director Nahason Muguna appealed to Kenyans to use the water sparingly as they restore the supply.
The Expressway, which begins at Mlolongo to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi's CBD, and ends at Westlands along Waiyaki Way, started last year and is aimed at reducing traffic jam along Mombasa Road.

Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia says the Sh62billion project will save the country millions of shillings wasted in fuel and time. The Expressway is expected to serve at least 25,000 vehicles per day, with a user expected to pay Sh600 per day to use the road.
