Raila Odinga: I was temporarily detained at Jimi Wanjigi’s home

The National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday said he was temporarily detained at Jimi Wanjigi’s home last night. He condemned the siege by police despite court order blocking them from accessing the premise.

Jimi Wanjigi said police siege on his home for over 72 hours was unjustified and complete fabrication. He insisted that the fire arms found are were all licensed.

“I am an innocent man whatever was being publicized is a fabrication, the firearms that were found in my home were licensed, “said Jimi Wanjigi.

He declared his unwavering support for Raila and called on Kenyans to support him.

NASA leader reiterated that all the weapons that were found in Wanjigi’s home were all licensed and police tried to harass the businessman and his family.

“This home was totally vandalized, it was wanton destruction of private property - this behavior shows that state is a rogue and it started after Supreme Court ruling on presidential election, “ said Raila who spend the night at Wanjigi’s home in Muthaiga.

Siaya Senator James Orengo said damage had been done by the police who came armed with crude weapons.

Wanjigi’s Lawyers led by Orengo said that they will move to court to sue Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett and DPP Keriako Tobiko over contempt of court. Orengo said police disregarded court’s order to proceed with raid at Jimi Wanjigi’s residence in Muthaiga.
