North Rift Jubilee Party candidates and supporters are now directing their resentment and disappointment at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto over the botched nominations.

Leaders who spoke in separate forums alleged interference by some operatives from top Jubilee leadership.

They said the operatives were trying to impose leaders on the electorate.

In Nandi County, Nandi-Hills MP Alfred Keter (pictured) led more than 200 dissatisfied aspirants in expressing displeasure at the manner in which the aborted nominations were handled.

Mr Keter alleged a plot to eliminate some leaders to pave way for some preferred candidates.

"We are aware of political conspiracies to eliminate leaders to pave way for some Jubilee puppets. We are aware of a list of preferred candidates that is circulating among some influential operatives in the Jubilee leadership," he said.

Keter was accompanied by at least 20 senatorial aspirants from Nandi, Uasin-Gishu and Elgeyo-Marakwet.

At least 50 parliamentary aspirants, over 100 MCA candidates and a dozen gubernatorial and women representative candidates were also present. [
