Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion to remain KNUT boss after court declined to lift orders barring the National Executive Committee from meeting to oust him.

The Employment and Labour Relations Court Justice Hellen Wasilwa ruled that Sossion's ouster was against the law, saying the union's Secretary General, Sossion had written a letter postponing the meeting but the committee proceeded with the meeting.

On September 2, labour court reinstated Sossion after KNUT top organ held a meeting on August 29 where they denounced Sossion as the unions' Secretary-General.

The Labour Court also ruled that the ODM nominated MP will serve in his full capacity until an agreement is reached between the parties to conduct a general election to appoint a new Secretary-General.

Sossions's wish of blocking all union's bank transactions without his consent was granted by the court.

The cat and mouse game has put the union in an awkward position as the Teacher's Service Commission stopped issuing funds to KNUT.

According to reports, KNUT has not received Sh140 million paralyzing the union's activities and staff going for three months without pay.

Mr Sossion will know his fate on Friday on whether he can hold both positions of a Member of Parliament and that of secretary-General in a case that was filed by seven teachers.?
