Palaver

Trouble with the donkey is that it is often overworked, is a design horror with unflatteringly long ears and no horns, makes a fool of itself at the marketplace, cannot neigh to save its life and is the object of outrageous humour. Now, even before we could say ‘Juja’, one William Kabogo was on the warpath against his Flower party (Narc-K) leader Martha Karua for daring to claim she would make an alternative and worthy candidate for the Mt Kenya bid for the House on the Hill in 2012. If these reports are true then this is the fastest defection on the Kenyan political scene yet, and of course a case of Asante ya punda....(A donkey’s gratitude is measured in severe kicks).

Here is a Palaver gem we came across: "Could the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict come from Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi? He has suggested a "one state solution" that allows both parties to feel that they live in all of the disputed land. It solves many of the thorny issues: There would be enough land for all. Jerusalem would be shared. Water rights would become a non-issue. And security would be managed by the combined government."

Government Spokesman Alfred Mutua is right to be miffed at Luis Moreno-Ocampo stealing his tactics and thunder. How dare Senor Ocampo talk down on Kenyans, and via video link, of all gadgets? Mulika mwizi huyo! Kenyans have become used to watching the Cobra Squadron and highly-trained experts in munitions procurement do their thing every Thursday afternoon. Ocampo is degrading the show with poor choreography, misplaced accent and his conduct un-lawyerlike. Around here, prosecutors usually wait patiently in court and do not comment on matters else they are considered to have rocked the STATUS QUO, and may be charged with sub judice. We feel you Alfred. We feel you.

And finally...

Who blinked first in the Kenya power staff versus management stand-off? Hilarious times these when you are clobbered senseless and still call it Win-win.
