Education and Training
Almost every man alive aspires to trace his roots. US President Barack Obama proved this hypothesis when he travelled thousands of kilometres when he was a law student to seek his ancestral roots in Kogelo, Siaya.

Now in the twilight months of his stewardship, President Kibaki will be long remembered, not for the free education programme, explosion of tarmacked roads or economic resurgence. His off-the-cuff remarks will be sorely missed. Recently, he made his way back to his shagzz in Nyeri and refused to spare the menfolk. Last time he toured the hills of his shagzz, one Kiunjuri sounded very angry. This time round, prezzo lambasted the men for spending their working and wakeful hours drinking too much even before doing their ‘real’ work! Ouch! That must have hurt even though he was spot on.

Immediate former Senegal President Abdoulaye Wade doesn’t deserve credit for accepting, albeit grudgingly, to hand over power to Mr Macky Sally. He simply saved his skin and embarrassment. Well, the writings were on the wall, literally. Across in Libya, he knew what happened to King of Kings, Muammar Gaddafi. He would not have liked to be smoked from a hole the Laurent Gbagbo way in Ivory Coast or even arraigned in the courtroom in a cage the Hosni Mubarak style. The likes of Robert Mugabe and Yoweri Museveni should read the signs of times too.

The panic that has gripped some ODM MPs over Mudavadi’s sudden epiphany as regards the presidency is amusing and infantile. If this continues, two prominent rivals of the Lang’ata MP won’t need to ride on The Hague issue to derail his so-called train to the house on the hill. The "money has been poured" chants that were last heard when Kanu was in power have returned, only this time it is Raila’s deputy being accused of working for the PM’s rivals. Give us a break! If ODM really believes in fair play, it should stop this nonsense. Unfortunately for the PM, history shows he consistently makes the wrong choice when confronted by a threat, real or imagined, to his dominance. So much for the Orange revolution!
