One dead as two vehicles collide, bhang rolls exposed

One person has died, another injured in an accident at Migingo area, near Mtito-Andei town along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The driver of the vehicle, a Toyota Noah, travelling from Nairobi to Mombasa collided head-on with an oncoming truck.

"The vehicle overtook a fleet of cars before colliding with a lorry. Police have established the vehicle was ferrying rolls of bhang," said Makueni County Police Commander Joseph ole Naipeiyan.

The Toyota Noah driver identified as Vincent Otieno Ochieng' is receiving treatment at Mtito-Andei hospital while the body of the deceased has been moved to Makindu sub-county hospital mortuary.
