Tharaka Nithi County: Tharaka Nithi County has identified tourism and agriculture as key investments to boost its economy.

During the launch of a Strategic Plan for the county, Governor Samuel Ragwa said improvement of infrastructure in the vast area would also be a priority for his government.

Ragwa said there was untapped potential in tourism that would earn the country foreign revenue once utilised. “If we utilise these resources well, our people will benefit. We have identified the areas which we need to improve,” said the governor.

Already, construction of county headquarters is underway at Kathwana market.

Speaking during the ceremony that was held at Chuka University, Ragwa said the county government would provide incentives to investors as well as create the right environment for them.

He called on all leaders to work together to create wealth and enable economic development.

“The coming together of professionals and educated youths in the county can also help grow it at double digits within two years,” said Ragwa.
