Killers made man rub chilli on his private parts before battering him to death

By Mirror | Apr 16th 2015 | 2 min read

Two brutal killers forced a man to rub chilli on his penis before battering him to death after becoming obsessed with 'Jackass-style' stunts.

Chas Quye and Elvis Kwiatkowski filmed their 'degrading and humiliating' attacks on dad-of-two Neill Buchel, 39, before dumping his dismembered body in a lake in Dagenham, Essex.

Mr Buchell, who had battled alcohol addiction, was a willing participant in some stunts and Blackfriars Crown Court was shown videos of the killers laughing hysterically as they shot at Mr Buchel with a BB gun while he wore women's underwear.

But the assaults became more serious and eventually ended in the brutal killing. Mr Buchel's body parts were found in White Hart Lakes around three months later.

When police arrested the pair they discovered the videos, along with footage of Quye setting fire to his pubic hair and being shot with a BB gun.

It is believed they were mimicking hit American TV show Jackass, which features presenters such as Johnny Knoxville inflicting pain upon themselves in the name of comedy.

Quye, 36, from Dagenham and Kwiatkowski, 36, from Royston, Hetfordshire, were jailed for life after being found guilty of murder at a previous hearing .

Judge, Mr Justice Spencer said: "This was a classic joint enterprise, it matters not in the end who did what, but you must have both realised straight away that Neill Buchel was badly injured.

“Disposing of the body would have been bad enough but what makes this part so much more serious is that you desecrated Neill Buchel’s body by dismembering it.”

Scott Hunt, 42, and Alan Quinn, 28, both from Dagenham, and Bradley Andison, 47, of Rochester, Kent, were also found guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A sixth man, Colin Bushaway, 61 of Eltham, south London, was cleared of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Mr Buchel, known as 'Southy', moved into a flat with Hunt after splitting up from his wife in December 2013.

The housemates would often socialise with Quye, who lived in a block of flats next to their building.

Det Ch Insp Chris Jones, of Essex Police, said: "Neill Buchel was murdered at the hands of people he trusted and believed were his friends.

"His death and subsequent treatment of his body have left all who knew him completely devastated."
