Shop attendant attacked in another man’s bed

By Charles Ngeno

A 20-year-old shop attendant from Mulot Market was severely beaten by villagers from Laluk after he was found in bed with another man’s wife.

The man is said to have began a clandestine relationship with the woman who is said to be operating a salon at the market.

The two are said to have been meeting after work at a local joint.

However, the mother of three is said to have begun inviting the young man to her matrimonial bed.

This is because her husband works in Mombasa and her children are quite young.

With time, the two became bold enough and could be seen riding on one boda boda towards the woman’s home.

This infuriated the villagers who decided that they would not watch him wreck another man’s family.

Business

They laid an ambush and on a Sunday evening, the two made their way to the compound.

The villagers, who included the woman’s brothers-in-law, decided to launch their surprise attack when they were sure the two had settled down to business.

When they knocked at the door, the woman asked who they were and one of her brothers-in-law shouted his name.

“Nimelala. Njoo kesho shemeji (am in bed. Come tomorrow in-law),” said the woman.

After threatening to break the door, the woman gave in. The young man could not escape because the windows to the house were grilled. Surprisingly, he was nowhere to be seen.

When asked where her lover was, the woman called their bluff, saying she had no other lover apart from her husband.

This annoyed the villagers who had seen the two being driven in.

Pastor

One of them slapped the woman across the face and asked her to produce him.

The woman pointed to the ceiling.

The young man was ordered to jump down or else he would ‘see fire’.

Shockingly, he was still nude when he landed on the cemented floor.

The young man was given a serious thrashing and it only took the intervention of a local pastor to save him from being lynched.

The woman was ordered to leave immediately or else she received a similar treatment.

But when the villagers tried calling her husband he was mteja — phone off.
