King of Lions to roar at the Nyali Course in Mombasa on Saturday

Some 250 golfers from across the Country are expected to participate in this year’s ICEA Lion King of the Course grand finale at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County tomorrow on Saturday.

This will be the 7th Edition of the Series that will double up for the ICEA LION King of the Course Grand Finale featuring winner in Nyali series and the ‘Winner of Winners’.

The competition will pitch this year’s winners of Machakos, Ruiru, Nanyuki and Nandi Bears in competitive duels and the winners of the above clubs have already confirmed their participation, according to the host Club Manager Eunice Masila.

Most of the golfers have been drawn from the host club, Mombasa Sea Link, Leisure, Vipingo, Malindi and a contingent of over 30 golfers from Machakos led by their Golf Captain Peter Kimatu.

ICEA LION King of the Course tournaments Convener Captain Joe Mboya of Machakos Country Club said, “The team is ready and excited to participate in this year’s Grand Finale.”

Nyali Golf and Country Club Captain, Dinesh Sasan said that preparations are in top gear, the fairways are gently rolling with the stage set for the Grand Finale and that the golfers can look forward to a great time on and off the Course.

ICEA LION Chief Executive Officer, Philip Lopokoiyit said, “We look forward to hosting our customers, Partners and other stakeholders. With this being our biggest and last sponsorship of the year, it gives us an opportunity to engage our potential and existing customers within Mombasa County and its environs.”

The event kicks off from 6.30 Am led by the Club Chairman Kamami Njoroge playing alongside the Club’s former Chairman Taib Bajaber and S.Mundia from the first tee while the team of H.Shah, S.Chauhan, A.Malde and N. Abdalla will start off from the tenth tee at 6.50am.

ICEA Lion’s Chief Executive Officer Philip Lopokoiyit will be playing alongside the Club’s Captain Dinesh Sasan, G.Mokua and A.Babbbu from the first tee at 13.00pm.
