CS Jumwa's life was in peril, witness tells court

Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa's life was in danger during a scuffle that led to the death of Ngumbao Jola on the eve of the 2019 Ganda ward by-election in Malindi, Kilifi County.

A police officer told the High Court in Mombasa that at least 10 bullets were shot at the home of ODM candidate Rueben Katana during the scuffle. Senior Sargent Julius Maina said the crowd that gathered at Katana's home charged towards then Malindi MP Jumwa, forcing the police to shoot in the air. He said the crowd had crude weapons.
