ODM wants curfew lifted, measures relaxed to jumpstart the economy

ODM has issued a notice of motion in the National Assembly seeking to compel the Government to lift the curfew and relax other Covid-19 containment measures.

The party through chairman John Mbadi and Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir argued that the tough Ministry of Health protocols aimed at curbing spread of the pandemic have had a negative impact on the economy. Among the proposed intervention measures through the Economic Stimulus Package is remodelling of the Kazi Mtaani concept for the rural folks dubbed Kazi Mashambani, enhanced stipend for the elderly, orphans and the vulnerable.
