Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit (right) has asked political leaders to shun divisive politics that have continued to derail government's development plans.

He called on politicians to avoid provocative language and address real issues affecting Kenyans.

Sapit said political leaders should focus on fulfilling pledges they made to Kenyans.

He said the recent fight between MPs Simba Arati and Sylvanus Osoro during a funeral in Kisii was shameful.

“We need to address issues, tell Kenyans issues and not abusing one another because that will not give Kenyans solutions,” he said.

Speaking at ACK Church at Mwaani in Wote during two-day tour of Makueni County, Sapit also condemned the continued torching of schools, noting that students were learning from leaders who have continued to engage in violence openly.

He also urged parents to bring up children by instilling good values in them.

“I also want to urge church leaders and parents to bring up children knowing the right of protecting property," he said.

He said the church will continue to offer psycho-social support to learners.
