Detectives arrest businessman over green house deal

Detectives attached to the Serious Crimes Unit have arrested a businessman accused of duping investors to venture into dubious greenhouse business.

According to a statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Peter Wangai Muriithi, who is the founder and CEO Goldensacpe Group Limited, was arrested for deceiving investors who ventured into greenhouse business, which turned out to be fraudulent.

“Mr Wangai through his company lured investors to invest in greenhouses that were to be set up in Ol Kalou, Nyahururu and other places which turned out to be fraudulent investment deal,” DCI notes.

The officers have revealed that the suspected is waiting to be charged.

“He will be charged with the offence of obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to defraud, false representation, issuing bad cheques among other charges,” DCI states.  

Several complainants have come forward against Wangai and have penned their statements over the issue, the detectives said.
