President renews term of spy chief

The newly appointed Director-General of National Intelligence Service, Major General Phillip Wachira Kameru takes oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony at State House, Nairobi.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has renewed the term of the country’s spymaster Major-General (rtd) Philip Wachira Kameru.

Uhuru is understood to have given Kameru (right) a second five-year term as Director-General of National Intelligence Service (NIS) a fortnight ago.
