The Kenyatta National Hospital has refuted claims by controversial blogger Robert Alai, claiming that fourteen infants in incubators died on Wednesday 13, due to power outage in the institution.

Retweeted Robert ALAI (@RobertAlai):

'14 infants in incubator died at KNH yesterday because power went off and the hospital doesn't have a back-up generator #WhyKenyaWhy?'

"No baby has died as a result of the alleged power blackout. KNH has four generators to serve critical areas among them Newborn Unit as well as Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

KNH did not experience power blackout. Please treat the information as an unfounded lie," KNH responded on Thursday 14.

Kenyatta National Hospital is the country’s chief referral and teaching institution. In 2010, the hospital was registered as a Prime Care Centre, which gives it the okay to run as a business entity in a bid to improve services.
