A 'sorry' society

‘Alliance says sorry,’ a sub-headline from a renowned and valued newspaper in the country read. I know other media houses had different headlines but this one is what caught my attention as a citizen.

At the outset, I’m remorseful for everything that happened to those boys of Alliance high and to any other high school students that have been enduring bullying before it came to the glare of publicity.

To my sub-headline, so I understand that we have had a very chaotic past five years as patriots and we still believe that it will be better someday but how will our faith come to authorization if we still echo same gaffes eloquently and later announce your apologies to the nation?

This has recently become a convention since no major deed is always taken to these who have embraced this form of lifestyle who then show their ‘crocodile tears’ form of apologies to the poor populations who are trying to survive the current cruel economy.

“Members of parliament who were charged with hate speech ‘say sorry’ to the nation after the court found them not guilty, The President ‘says sorry’ to the families that lost their loved ones due to insecurity.” This is what we always read come rain come sunshine while these circumstances can be eluded.

Every elite member in the society has found the word ‘sorry’ to be the cure to diseases they jolt not to mention Justin Bieber and the likes.

I, you and we are tired of hearing and reading same words on newspapers or press conferences each time you muddle. This is not a country where people ‘tunatenda na kusema sorry but tunasema na kutenda maendeleo!’
