Opinion: Why William Ruto will be the fifth president of kenya

Many have known him as the go getter in the Kenyan politics, well nothing could be further from the truth. The man from Sugoi has traversed the marshy waters that is the Kenyan politics and has always come out on top of the game.  He is always ahead of the game politically and observes as things unfold from an eagle’s eye point of view.

He has won himself many friends and enemies in near equal measure. What most people don’t know is that he is a man who whenever he sets his goal then he goes all his way to ensure that he achieves it! This is a good quality that anyone who truly aspires to get to the top seat must have.  Unlike his boss, H.E D.P Ruto has been seen traversing the entire republic trying to woo voters from different parts of the country. Time and again he has been attending various fund raisers in central Kenya, western and even the coastal and Nyanza counties. He has won very many political friends from the entire republic giving him a truly nationalistic figure which is a plus for any individual targeting the presidency of this country.

His alliance with H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta has also placed him at a better chance. This doesn’t mean that he will be guaranteed the vast Mount Kenya support. Severally he has come out to tell off those criticizing this alliance; he has been quoted telling his rivals that he knows he can’t be guaranteed the vast Mount Kenya votes and that he is ready to hassle for the votes. This shows a man that is ready for any eventualities and that he is not awaiting any form of endorsements.

In fact, judging from previous elections where candidates that have been endorsed by sitting presidents have found it hard to clinch the coveted seat, the deputy president is better off fighting his own way and creating his own political clout like he has done before. He has what it takes including the zeal and the ambition which beats everything else. He is young, ambitious and more so a performer that is able to unite this country and take it to the next level in terms of development.
