Muhoro names new DCI bosses in changes to check crime levels

Twenty-five senior DCI officers have been promoted and posted to new stations in changes aimed at enhancing police investigations.

Most of the officers had been undergoing a promotional course and had to be promoted as per police regulations.

Nairobi’s Makadara division got a new DCI with DCI boss Ndegwa Muhoro posting Stephene Mutua there to replace Nicholas Etyang who moves to headquarters inspection section.

The new Busia DCI is Samuel Agutu to replace Shadrack Bundi who moved to Kakamega regional office.

Others named include Agrey Obura (Turkana Central), Henry Chebii (Laikipia East), James Tali (Habasweni), Ken Njoroge (Karen), Wilfred Okero (Msambweni), Bakari Ndzovu (Lugari), Robert Muriithi (Mumias) and Jimmy Kimaro (Makindu).

Muhoro also named Bernard Gicheru as the deputy head of Special Crimes Prevention Unit and moved Peter Kabura to Kandara, Joseph Tuksho to Homabay, Benson Omondi (Tigania East), Isaiah Ngetich (Lagdera) and Abdirashid Yakub (Mbalambala).

Other are Robinson Cherenje (Nyando), Jeremiah Musyoki (Londiani), Adan Hassan (Kikuyu), Joseph Kisingu (Lamu Headquarters), Josephine Kemunto (ATPU Western), Abedinego Kilonzo (ATPU North Eastern) Stephen Tanki (Bureti) and Rose Nduku (Imenti South).

More changes are expected by next month as the National Police Service Commission considers proposals forwarded there.
