Amollo to resign as Ombudsman chair a year before ending term

Commission on Administrative Justice Chairperson Otiende Amollo will resign from his position in November before completing his six-year term.

Mr Amollo announced at a press conference in Nairobi Tuesday that he opted to resign one year earlier to allow appropriate succession to take place.

“I came to office in November 14, 2011 for a six-year term but I have opted to resign on November 14, 2016; before the end of my term for appropriate succession to take place,” he said.

Mr Amollo, served as an expert with the Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review that delivered the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 before his appointment.
