KQ is world‘s leading carrier

There is no other airline better placed to be the world‘s leading carrier than Kenya Airways!

The airline operates from a strategic geographic location between East and West, North and South. Kenya is also a friend of many nations with the JKIA Hub having recently been upgraded to the much-coveted 'Category One‘ status.

In addition, KQ employees are considered among the best in aviation circles. All these factors present Kenya Airways with incredible opportunities and a competitive advantage to reach beyond its grasp and offer connecting flights world over.

However, the airline should consider this as part of their recovery plan.

Firstly is employee inspiration. Whenever a company nosedives into losses, there is usually a feeling of hopelessness among employees.

It is therefore important to begin the turnaround by creating a winner‘s attitude in all employees.

Secondly customer infatuation. This is putting the customer first and proactively finding new ways of satisfying their changing needs.

Lastly is value Innovation. In other words, this means embracing the ‘Blue Oceans Strategy’ over ‘Red Oceans Strategy.’

This is a modern concept among businesses where instead of focusing on competition, businesses come up with new products to make competition irrelevant.

It is about pioneering an experience, then ruling it before the market catches up with you. The staff should also throw their weight behind the airline‘s recovery strategy and work as a team.
